Imagine that you will have all your bills paid and needs met for the next three months in exchange for taking on a "job" you will do without fail. Each day, rain or shine, what will you look forward to waking up and doing? Why do you want to do it? What would your typical day and/or your overall experience be like?
Please add your response in the comments section of this post.
Imagine spending three months living and playing in the Hawaiian Islands. Three months working at their level one trauma center, working twelve hour shifts, three days a week. And having the rest of your free time every week learning how to surf, scuba-dive, and exploring the lush tropical jungles. Meeting the native people, learning about their culture, and traditions, would be a life changing experience. Studying the way they do things in the operating room, when sometimes they don't have the same resources we have on the mainland would be an eye opening experience. This would my idea of spending three months in paradise, where your bill are paid and your expenses are covered. And life is free and easy.

ReplyDeleteMy day would consist of going to the SPCA and other animal shelters. I would rescue all the animals that were waiting to be put to sleep. I would give them all a place to begin a new life on my ranch that I rented for three months. Since all my bills are paid what better way to devote my time. I have always had a heart for the lost and forgotten especially when it comes to animals. So why not take these three months to begin a life long commitment,to giving these animals facing death a new beginning. So come on down to Barbara Ann's Pet Haven and take home a special furry friend today.
The blasting of the hidden stage sound system. The sudden bursts of colors from stage lights flashing in every direction. My voice echoes through every corner of sold-out arenas, arm to arm packed outdoor pavillions, and crowded music halls. This would be my life as a world renowned music artist. Every given day would consist of traveling from city to city on a world tour over a three month time period. In addition to performing an events like the B.E.T. Awards and the Glastonbury Festival I'd also be permitted to perform at international landmarks such as; Royal Albert Hall of London, the Acropolis of Athens, the Taj Mahal Agra, India, the Forbidden City of China, the Burj Khalifa of Dubai, the Kremlin of Russia, and the Castillo San Felipe del Morro of Puerto Rico. The nature of my performances would consist of every genre from Gospel, Rock, Classical, Contemporary, R&B, Neo, Dance, and Indie. To leave my heart and soul out on the stage would be a dream fulfilled. Lastly Due to all my living expenses being paid the entire profit accumulated from every event would be used to start my own Eliminate Aids & Cancer Foundation.
ReplyDeleteI would play poker every day to make a living. If you were to ask most people about poker they may say it’s just a game or a method of basic gambling. The ones who actually do this are consider some of the smartest people in Las Vegas. Just the idea of sitting at a table playing a game that you love and actually make a lot of money, may have you feeling like a professional athlete. I would start my day by waking up when I’m done sleeping. So many people are deprived of rest, because he or she has to get up early and fight through traffic to get to their place of employment. Then I would count my bank roll, which in the poker world that’s you’re playing money. Your bank roll and you money for everyday living are kept totally separate. I would then start my day by a hot shower and a healthy breakfast. If there are any errands to run like bill paying or grocery shopping, I would start my day with those things as first priority. Now a great poker player knows when to play and for how long. I would go to my place of choice to play. Once I’m there I would observe all the players and then decide which table I wanted to sit down on. A poker player must recognize the fish on the table. Now the fish is considered to be the worst player in the game. Now if you can’t recognize the fish, this only means you are the fish. Once you’re in the game then you need to pick your spots to play. Sometimes you can make money fast or it can take all night. So I would set limits so that I’m successful player. If I’m up a certain amount before my time allotted to play, then it’s time to go and return the next day. Over the past ten years poker has become the number one past time for the ordinary guy. Every summer in Las Vegas, Nevada a poker tournament is held and the first place winner will take home over eight million dollars. The players that participate in this tournament spend most of their year playing on a daily bases to try and come up with the buy in for the main event. Poker is exciting and the payouts can be huge. If I knew all of my bills would be paid from me playing poker on a daily basis, there is no doubt I would spend five to eight hours a day on the poker table. The new phenomenon that has taken over the world in everyday entertainment now brings thousands of individuals to the city of Las Vegas every June. Each player comes for their shot at the grand prize of at least eight million dollars for first place. Now the Rio casino is the host for this massive crowd, which invades the town that never sleeps. The Rio will run over fifty tournaments so as many people that want can play. The very last tournament has a buy-in of ten thousand dollars and as many as seventy-five hundred players will line up to punch their ticket in this prestigious main event.

DeleteThe great thing about playing poker for a living is that you are your own boss. You don’t have to worry about anyone not doing what they are supposed to do. You don’t have to worry about if you will receive an increase in pay. Another great thing is you can come and go as you please. No one cares if you play late or early. At certain places like the casino’s you receive some of the best hospitality. If you play for so many hours your overnight stay may be for free and so could your meals. Even if you didn’t do so hot on the tables that day you still could have a top of the line dinner and a very restful night. These perks alone could make it hard for a person that works an eight hour a day job continue to do so. A career in poker has many down falls you can lose it all faster than you could blink your eyes. You must have discipline and able to keep your emotions intact. It is a must that you stick to your own guide lines and the rules of a great poker player. Never cheat yourself or your opponent. Don’t under estimate a player and never take one for granted. My all-time favored poker rule is “YOU GOT TO KNOW WHEN TO FOLD THEM, KNOW WHEN HOLD THEM, KNOW WHEN TO WALK AWAY, KNOW WHEN TO RUN, YOU NEVER COUNT YOUR MONEY WHEN YOU ARE SITTING AT THE TABLE. THERE IS TIME ENOUGH TO COUNT IT, WHEN THE DEAL IS DONE”!
ReplyDeleteI would play poker every day to make a living, because of all the wonderful perks and personal benefits it has to offer. Sleep for as long as I want and not have to rush off to anywhere particular. Making enough money to live the life styles of the rich and famous as a poker player may bring fame and glory. A poker player has his own dress code. One day you can dress nice and smell like a bottle of fresh air. Then the next be as comfortable as you can be with no one caring as long as you still smell like a bottle of fresh air. These points are very important to me. I need to be rested to think at a very fast pace. The great players win a lot. It is a proven fact that eighty percent of the same players win every year in world class poker tournaments. Being able to support yourself financially, while doing something you love makes you enjoy life. This is important for health reasons. If you can keep stress out of your life it increases your chances for a longer life. As a poker player you may be the only parent sometimes at a morning school function. Having time, not making time to spend with family and friends can be worth more than gold. I don’t usually make friends on the poker table it’s normally strictly business. It’s pretty hard not to befriend someone when you constantly play the game, but there are so many good players that play the game it’s tough not too. So making enough money for a great living, being able to sleep in on many mornings can spoil a person like me. Playing poker eight hours a day makes time to share with you spouse and kids and not be spending the majority part of your day commuting and working. People don’t realize how many hours in a day they are away from their homes. Most people leave for work an hour before work starts. Others may leave two hours before work maybe to dropped the kids off at school. Then off to work for eight to ten hours then perhaps another hour on the drive home. When it’s all said and done I want to be able to spend more time with family and enjoy the beauty of life. This is why I would play poker every day to make a living.

DeleteThe good thing of having three months free with me is come back Vietnam to visit my family, friends. In the first month, the month of family, I could spend a whole morning to have a break first with my family and play chess with them. I could hang out and play sport with my two brothers at the afternoon after having lunch with my mom. I may visit relative and my grandmother because I know they must miss a lot for five years I am not being around. Spending the evening with my sister to shopping and karaoke with cousins are also good ideas. Next, the second month, month of love, I want to have a tour through Vietnam with my girlfriend. I would love to take a lot of pictures with her, do such things, and have romantic dinner together. I must hang out with her friends and her family also. She and I will discover and eat our native food, which I crave for to deign whenever I see picture of those on her Facebook. I believe this time will be interesting. Finally, the third month, month of friend, I think they will not forgive me for not join in their party. Everyday of Vietnamese is party and drinking. Yeah, I must not able to drag my feet to home. I think we may play poker, 13 cards or black jack for fun. We can also go fishing and clubbing whole day and night. If I could have three month free, I love to come back home and make my happy days with my family, girlfriend, and friends.
ReplyDeleteIf all my bills and needs were met for the next three months in exchange for taking on a "job" I would do without fail, would be being myself. The reason I say that is because I enjoy my life and have done and got the things that I have wanted and am looking forward to the things that I will get. I wake up every morning with a smile on my face and really being a care free person. My typical day, without being in college, would be me waking up around 6 a.m., I would take a shower and get dressed and as I am leaving out of the house around 8am, I would be checking my messages on the different social and networking sites I advertise my services on. I would get on the bus checking my messages because I would have a lot of them because I am a very social person. I would get downtown and I would meet up with a few friends and we would go out to eat somewhere and some of them will talk to me about their problems. I give them advice on how to handle them and then when everyone is ready to go, we go our separate ways. I would get online to see if I have any responses to the messages that I have replied to because I can't leave my sites for more than an hour without my inbox being full. I would go to a day shelter to check on a few individuals to see if they are doing alright and see if they need resources to places to get them housing. I also sit with them and listen to their problems and help them sort it out. I am doing most of that right now because these people are helping me with experience in the field of Psychology. I would leave them around 1 pm and I would go to a nice secluded area and get on facebook and talk to individuals that are in the group that I have created. I would post their questions, which will be anonymous and I would give my advice as the answer. I would be on there if I have anything inboxed to me. I would make a few business calls and have a few appointments set up for the day and night. I would normally make it home for 5p and get home and relax and play my games online, read, or just watch a movie. I would possible handle clients after giving massages.
ReplyDeleteWhen I came to America for study, I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do, but soon I decided to work in mass media and business of entertainment and fashion sphere, shoot video, to be director, and then have my own TV channel so I chose the faculty of mass media and communication arts. I started to organize parties and create filming clips, as I write lyrics, rapping about the life of Russian-speakers in U.S., how they live, what challenges are facing. To this day I still have to do it, it gives me great pleasure. I like to be engaged in this and spend all my free time on it.
ReplyDeleteIf for three months, I could do any job on the plant getting paid well to do it and have all experiences paid. I would become a reality television star. Yes, I said it. I would want to be paid to do pretty much NOTHING but be myself and be everywhere all on my producer’s dime. Why, you ask would I want this job there are several reason. Each based on what make a person famous in today social media world. I have considered all reasons and this are my top three.
ReplyDeleteAs a person with her on show, I could lie in bed for reading all the news outlets blogs and postings all morning long while drink a cup of tea and having toast. Then get up and still do nothing but plan which restaurant I wanted to have lunch with close friend or family member. Sit there and talk to them about someone who the world does not know or who it does (that is called name dropping) like the trash that was left after the New Year’s Eve party in Time Square. Then later I could go shopping at the Galleria to just shop not because I have an event am going to but because I need to drop in to my endorsers place of business so all my followers want to shop there as well.
Going out for a night on the town would be fun. I could hit all the clubs without a cover charge. Get all my drinks severed without a second thought and once again order only the top shelve liqueurs because of my endorsement deals. Drop a few well place catch phrases and party the night away. Get into a limo and all while the cameras are rolling. As the night is coming to a close look directly into the camera and give a statement on how boring my life is and how I wish I could do something more meaning full with my life.
Yet now that it is Award season and all the film festivals happening around the world. The camera and I would have to be there giving my take on the events. Hanging out with people, who are A-list celebrates. Being dress by the top designer, draped in rented jewels acting like the world is mine. Make sure that the people that are watching wish that their lives whereas fabulous as the life I have. “Coming back to Houston after globe-trotting is going to be so relaxing!” would be that catch phrase for the cameras.
The thing I must remember is that the cameras are always there and I am getting paid for this and that I am not a role model. I am living a life set up by well-placed adverting and social media. So do my job and make everyone want my products.

ReplyDeleteMy Three Months of Fun and Travel
I would travel thought out the United States. I would make my first stop at Hawaii. I would go to all the large islands. I would start my day with prayer. Then I would do my daily exercise. I would find me a good restaurant and eat breakfast that would contain lots of fresh fruit, egg omelet with lots of fresh veggies, such as onion, mushrooms, green peppers, three cheeses with bacon and sausage on the side. I would wash it down with a cold glass of pineapple juice .After breakfast I would take a walk along the beach to walk off some calories and take in some beautiful scenery. I would attend some shows that have a lot of dancing, good music and people having fun .I would go on tours and do a lot of shopping for myself and my family Later in the day I would get on a boat and go sightseeing and take in all the island cultural details and exhibits. In the evening I would find a nice place to dine with good food and music, lots of dancing and an ocean view. I would spend a month enjoying myself.
At this time I would get on a plane to California. I would go to all large cities for great art, dining, dancing, plays, shows and great shopping. I would spend about two weeks there. Next stop would be Mexico; I would do a lot of shopping and enjoy some great food for about one week. After this I would get back on a plane to New York City, for sightseeing, plays dining and shopping and great food for about two more weeks. Then continue on to Florida. More fun and sun for one week, all the same wonderful things. Back on the plane, next stop would be New Orleans for some spicy food, great music, history and art. Then back to Texas to check out some places closer to home. I would spend a few days in Dallas, then on to San Antonio to check out the Alamo. Then back home to Houston to enjoy the city I love the most!
The reason for all the travel and vacation is because I never had one that was all for the pleasure for myself. After over thirty years of being a wife, mother, grandmother, and always helping someone, I would take A long break that do not include cleaning, cooking, and seeing after the needs of others. I would love a real vacation and a break.

ReplyDeleteThree months, rain or shine, doing what you love!
If I were able to do this, I would hitch my boat and my lady and I would head out on I-10 east
to Louisiana. In Baton Rouge, we would take I-12 east to Slidell, La. and back onto I-10 east to
Mississippi. Once we arrived in Pascagoula, Ms., we would find a nice hotel for two weeks and
fish every day. It’s amazing to everyone I know that I have come to enjoy fishing as much as I
do. I also have relatives who live there. When we leave, we will get back onto I-10 east to
Mobile, Al., to I-65 North to Montgomery, Al. There we would again check into a hotel for two
weeks and fishing as many surrounding areas we can find. Not only would we be fishing, every
location we stop at, there many tourist attractions also. As we leave, we will continue on to
I-85 north to Opelika, Al., and pick-up Hwy 280 east which will take us to Columbus, Ga. This is
where I used to live before moving to Houston, TX. I have my children, grand-children and
numerous friends to visit and fish. From here, we would continue on Hwy 280 east to Hwy 1
South, to I-95 South to St.Marys, Ga. I have relatives to visit here along with many tourist
attractions being only twenty-two miles from Jacksonville, Fl. After our two-week visit here, we
will take I-95south to I-10 west to Pensicola, Fl. Here, again check-in to a hotel for two weeks,
fish and visit tourist attractions. Then we will continue on to New Orleans, La., for our final
stop. This is my home, and I dare not tell you we would be fishing. Party, Party, Party for two
weeks!!!!

ReplyDeleteA typical 3months with Danielle Johnae' on a all paid dream of life. I woundnt let rain, storm or heat stop me from accomplishing what I loved to do. Just the thought of helping others, and doing Gods work it's an amazing feeling. Day one is me standing at Bush air port, " flight to South America Ecuador leaves in 45 minutes!" The rush in my veins of the thought of not seeing my family for 3months, i never felt this way before in my life. As i say goodbye one last time and walk to my seat i think about the children lives ill be changing. And as i change and mold minds i get to have an awesome weekend vacation on a beautiful beach. "God is good!" The plane lands and my new family and friends welcome me to there country. I drop my bags off at my new home, and get right to work. I meet my new students, introduce myself to my new coworkers and get the feeling of my new life style. The weekend come, and my vacation begins. A beautiful beach, i could never see anything like this in Texas. Peace from drama for 3months, my life couldn't get any better. Helping children is my goal in life and i get the opportunity to accomplish it in Ecuador. Only if my dream could last a life time, but every dream comes to a end. But this experience will last in my memory forever, so as i sadly wave bye to my family and friends i think on how i can make a difference when im back in Texas.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing that I would love to do rain, sleet, or snow for three months is being my own boss of a Bed-n-Breakfast styled restuarant. It would sit 40-50 couples comfortably. There would be a live jazz band to compliment the fine dancing. The great cuisine would have your mouth watering before the food reaches the table. And if you were too tired, too full, or too tipsy, to drive home, you could reserve a nice suite with all the amenities for you to relax and have a good night's sleep.
ReplyDeleteBreakfast would start at 5:00 o' clock a.m. Coffee would be brewing so that the aroma would be the alarm. The smell of grits, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast or biscuits would also aide in the alarm. Reminding you of a nice cool winters day, when living was good, and money was plentiful.
So what I am saying, my ideal job that I would love to do rain, sleet, or snow, would be, to be the owner and cook of my own little, place. But after 3 months, business would be so good that it would end up being the perfect business.
I enjoy the look on people faces when they eat a plate of my food. Just chewing and shaking their heads. No talking just chewing and shaking their heads. That's when you know the food is "GOOD".
If I could have any career in the world for three months, I would choose to be an ER physician, so I get to help people when they need it most. I have never been completely sure what may career would be, although I have always believed it would be an amazing feeling to be someone’s hero. I have been to the emergency room a few times for my siblings and me, so I know what it’s like to depend on somebody for help. I understand it be a high stress career, but I can go home every day knowing that I made difference in someone’s life.
ReplyDeleteMy parents both worked as EMTs when they were in college and my dad told me many stories of life on an ambulance. The job was occasionally very rough, but it also proved to be a very important job. Those stories taught me that helping someone is not always easy, but it’s always worth the struggle. Since I was young, I decided that whatever career I chose I would always be ready to help someone. So whether that career was in the medical field, the educational field, or even as an engineer, I would find a way to be helpful to someone in need.
Another bright side about working as a physician is that I would have great experience and great pay, so I could pay for expanding my education in college. The experience would look great on a resume, so maybe I could be acquire a better job after! Experiencing life in the medical field would help me narrow down my choices for my future career. In three months I would learn what it takes to be an ER physician, save money for college, and help people along the way!

ReplyDeleteMY THREE MONTHS VACATION
A successfully life means busy life. As I grow up, responsibilities become part of my life; I don’t remember a last time I rest even just for a one week. I have been attending school since I was six years old, also during holidays my parents will pay a tutor to prepare me for the next school term. Now am getting a three months break and I am planning to use it on a road traveling form one state to another while listening to all types of music.
First I have to plan my trip and rent a nice car. I will have to drive six hours and then stop for lunch, then get back to the road till dawn. I will rent a local motel in order to visit local bars also I will make sure to spend two months on a road and one month in Florida. These two months will be part of learning some of historical places that I will come across on the way.
While I will be in Florida I will spend my time on different shores, drink coconut water and eat all type of sea food. My ears will be covered with earphones listening to music. This time, I will stay in a nice hotel ordering full services. This will be a resting time ready to go back to school. I will use four days on the way to Houston only because I don’t want to rush since opportunities like this happen once in a life time.
If I could spend three months of my life doing what I really love, certainly I would go along my fiancee to a place where I could teach music for children, enjoy the nature and meet a new world. I would consider to go to a tropical country where the sun shines all year long and people are friendly, for instance, a caribbean country. I do love beach and the nature. My typical day would start with workshops about specifics subjects. During the evening, some concerts with local musicians.
ReplyDeleteMy classes in the afternoon could be about music reading and writing. As a musician, it would be a pleasure. I have been playing keyboard, guitar and "cavaquinho" (a brazilian instrument normally used to play samba) since I was a teenager. Therefore, it would be nice. I could not only exchange culture experiences but also learn a lot with children from a different place. Besides, on my leisure time I could enjoy great moments visiting interesting places such as beaches, mountains, among others. Every experience would be a learning.
In addition, another daily task would be doing what I used to do in my home city, such as surfing, fishing and playing socer. Probably I would find people with similar interests. I prefer to wake up early so that I can enjoy the day. Also, I would consider to go to a good sea food restaurant and try those huge lobsters and tasty fishes which we find only at these crazy places.
More than teach people and find new possibilities, this travel would be wonderful because I would learn a lot, not only about a new world but I would have sure about what I really was born for.
If I had the choice to live freely for 3 months , I'm pretty sure I would be on the next flight to Paris. I would become the most popular fashion designer that the world could have ever seen. Since i kind of already eat, sleep, and breathe the fashion buisness, this job would be the best choice for me.
ReplyDeleteTo explain each day in deep detail, I would be up at the crack of dawn preparing myself for my days work. As in, make-up, hair, and wardrobe. After that I would sit down inside of my theatre room and watch the latest news on fashion, which of course would happen to be about myself! After I've had my little moment of catch-up I would grab my suit-case and head down into my luxury vehicle. Once in my vehicle I would head to the work-place to do my daily duties as in handing in my latest sketches, thoughts, and ideas. It also consits of picking out runway models, wardrobes and featured designers.Once I have completed all of the tasks at hand I would tell my assitant to cancel my schedule for the day and head home.
I believe that I would genuinely enjoy this job because that is my long life dream. I feel as if there's so much more to life than just sitting behind a desk tasking all day, and to be able to do it for only 90 days would still be an life-changing experience.
All in all ; rain, shine, sleet, or snow I would give my very best in everything I had to do. Mostly because everyday would be something new to me, or it would be an new exciting experience in my work place. Nomatter what issues may come about I would enjoy every living second of working in the fashion buisness.
can somebody tell me where we are suppose to add our new Samauri Jack essay
ReplyDeleteMy first reaction to such a question is a cringe because the idea of having three months to myself, debt free, to do whatever I want, sounds too good to be true. I would do my two favorite things during this time: I would travel and I would write. I would go to all of those countries I’ve always heard of, and I would write about them constantly, irreverent to whether anyone would actually read my writings. I would write for my own entertainment, but I would also lovingly submit my work to local newspapers, travel blogs or whoever would have me. I would write from a Cultural Anthropological point of view, objective as I could be, and I would write about being a fish out of water…a fish with a penchant for new experiences. Some of the places I would like to go are India, South America, Australia. I would go to these places with the intention of immersing myself in the customs and cultures of the people. I would write from the perspective of someone trying to understand other places and other cultures, but I would also write to educate an audience . I would go to different restaurants, try new and different foods, I would go to beaches, and try hard to get myself lost. I would try to learn different languages, and leave my native American behind. I would track down non-tourist attractions and try to venture to places I’m not supposed to go. I would take pictures and make numerous voice recordings of my adventures and then at night, I would sit at a desk and try to piece it all together to form a travel diary. I would go out of my way to leave my comfort zone, I would try things that I didn’t think I liked and push myself to have fun doing them.
ReplyDeleteI would tell myself that I was a world traveler and that I had to immerse myself in as much of it as possible, until the point that I might lose myself, or forget who I really was. There is a popular phrase that states that it is not until you lose yourself that you truly find yourself and I would hope that a trip engineered in ignorance would accomplish that very goal. So many people are scared of the unknown, living and dying in the same fifty mile radius that they’ve always known and I don’t want to live my life that way. I think in order to truly feel alive, you must challenge yourself to new experiences, exciting places, and people who speak a language you may not understand. I want to test the durability of the human fabric that connects us all together; surely language alone is not our only connection as humans. I want to disprove the idea that America is the greatest country in the world and I want to shed that ignorance like a snake would shed a layer of skin. I want to wiggle out of that humorous lie we tell ourselves, and into something that’s far more honest and accurate.
If I had such an opportunity, It would be a dream come true. My job would either be on a farm in the wilderness part of Wyoming or at a local stable in Honolulu, Hawaii. My "job" would be an equine caretaker, regardless of the weather. I would wake up every morning to turn them out into the pasture, while I cleaned out their stalls. The horses would be out in the arena for riding lessons and then brought in. Once the horses were brought in they would be bathed/groomed and given a snack. Once bathed, they would return to their stall and given dinner for the day. Once my job was done, I would either go out for a ride myself or go for a walk on the beach. If I had no errands to do, I would sleep until my next shift in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI would want to take this job because I've already grown up doing it. These things were my daily barn chores at home. I would however like to take on a similar job somewhere else. Texas is great, but Wyoming and Hawaii call me. I wouldn't mind waking up every morning to this, it's already a part of my life.
